BHETA welcomes a preview from Argos

About fifty BHETA members from the housewares sector were treated to an insightful, informative and thoroughly entertaining presentation from Huw Crwys-Williams, Senior Trading Director at Argos at the BHETA Housewares Forum on September 24th.

Responsible for leading the trading functions across the Homewares, Furniture and Core Electrical categories as well as for the development and repositioning of Argos as a thoroughly modern omni-channel retailer for the digital age, Huw was frank and forthcoming about the history of this iconic brand and its current trading position with special reference to housewares and SDAs. Delegates were also able to see previews of concept stores and key strategies for the future of different categories and brand versus own label.

Other speakers at what proved to be a very exciting example of BHETA’s successful series of guest speaker and networking occasions included Sarah Selzer from PR Direct discussing consumer PR and the i2i Events Group reviewing Autumn Fair and previewing Spring Fair.

David Beech from Brand View also fascinated the audience with the potential of real time monitoring of a brand or product’s day to day performance in online retail.

The event took place on 24th September at Federation House.

BHETA’s home enhancement sector director, Will Jones explained, “This was a very successful event with some really top quality speakers on highly relevant topics for BHETA members.
