BHETA Forum with John Lewis – Tuesday 15th November

BHETA will be holding a Forum for all its members, on Tuesday November 15th commencing at 9.30am. We will be holding the event at Federation House, 10 Vyse St, Birmingham.

We have an excellent line up of speakers specifically chosen to highlight opportunities in the industry and stimulate debate on a number of current key issues.

Anna Berry – Head of Cook & Dine at John Lewis will be presenting her initial assessment of the market following her move from Health and Beauty and outlining the future strategic direction of the Cook and Dine category within John Lewis. She will also be highlighting the opportunities for suppliers and how best they can benefit from understanding and working with John Lewis.

CBI (Confederation of British Industry) regional Director Richard Butler will be exploring what challenges and opportunities a post- BREXIT Britain offers the Housewares market. He will also present a wider perspective on the issues that face UK PLC based on the overview of its 90,000 members.

Glynn Jones from the Bank of England agency for the West Midlands & Oxfordshire will be updating members on the Banks view about the UK economy following our vote to leave the EU, their forecast of the economic impact and opportunities likely to come plus any policy responses both underway and taking shape.

Phil Pond from trend forecasters Scarlet Opus, who have now firmly established themselves in the industry as market leaders in forecasting future design, material and colour trends, will be presenting his thoughts on future market developments. Following on from the success of the BHETA Trend Trail at this year’s Exclusively show this will be an excellent opportunity to consider the trends for 2017.

Caroline Rowell has spent over 20 years in the Homewares industry working in various buying roles with for example House of Fraser and Fenwick will be presenting her ideas on how suppliers can best take a product from its original conception to its landing in a retail environment and along the way deal with the physical presentation of the product, the communication of its benefits to the consumer, packaging style, content & product pricing.

Refreshments will be provided on the day, including a networking lunch.

We anticipate this being a very popular event and would encourage you to book early to ensure a place.
