The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has kicked off a webinar series designed to help UK businesses enhance their international trade strategies through effective market research. What to Expect in Part 1
Attendees will gain insights into:

  • The benefits of market research for international trade
  • Conducting strategic desk-based research
  • Finding reliable business and consumer intelligence online

This session will guide businesses through the process of developing research objectives that directly inform market entry strategies. Practical methodologies and research techniques will be explored to help participants identify the most promising global markets for their expansion plans.

Expert Insights
The webinar will be led by Kerry Stagg, International Research Advisory Manager at DBT. With over 25 years of experience in strategic planning, consumer insight, and market intelligence, Kerry has a strong track record of helping businesses turn research into actionable strategies. Having worked for major UK retailers such as Boots and Somerfield, she now specialises in assisting SMEs in developing global market entry strategies.

This session is the first in a two-part series. The second webinar, “In-Market Research: Using Research Findings to Develop Strategy,” will take place on March 11th, providing a deeper dive into applying research insights to business decision-making.

For businesses looking to expand internationally, this series offers a valuable opportunity to build a strong foundation in market research and strategic planning.
