
BHETA are recruiting for a Member Services Co-ordinator to join our busy team, working three days a week at our offices in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, and two days from home.
Role: Member Services Co-ordinator
Location: Hybrid, 3 days in the office in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham
BHETA are a Trade Association that represents manufacturers and distributors to the Housewares, Small Electrical, Home Improvement (DIY) and Gardening market. We are a very proactive association and take pride in the excellent range of services and initiatives designed to help and support our members. BHETA has around 300 members who are responsible for approximately £14bn of retail sales and employ over 14,000 people. Our offices are located in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham.
The Member Services Co-ordinator will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will need to be organised, be able to multitask whilst paying attention to detail. They will have the ability to deal with a wide range of people efficiently and professionally. The candidate will be a presentable person who can work as part of a small team but is able to use their own initiative. The candidate must have excellent administrative skills, with a minimum of three years’ experience and be computer literate in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Mailchimp and Outlook, have experience of facilitating Zoom/Teams meetings and a good working knowledge of internet databases (Workbooks) would be preferable.
Key responsibilities:
- Have a good understanding of best practice and customer care in dealing with clients and members
- Monitor changing daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines
- Organise and administer BHETA events, at which attendance will be required either in person or via Zoom
- To assist when required with meetings and functions. Provide support for organising and servicing internal and external meetings
- Attend nationwide trade exhibitions to support members and promote BHETA services
- Support and implement key initiatives at BHETA’s own show (Exclusively)
- Recruitment and management of BHETA Business Support Providers
- Accurate minute taking, attending regular committee and board meetings, recording and distribution of meeting minutes
- CRM management – updating CRM, user management, report management, marketing creation
- Maintain and update member/retailer information on the database through annual database cleanses and ad hoc information received
- Prepare and distribute membership packs to members and interested parties
- Update members on all services available to them and inform them of services that BHETA can offer through a promotional programme
- Deal with enquiries from and on behalf of members and other incoming emails and telephone calls
- Be an active member of the general office and assist other members of the team
- Carry out the day-to-day general administration of the office
- Provide administration support – collating reports, invoicing, taking, and writing up minutes of meetings and other general administrative tasks
- Provide support to the Executive Team and COO and on occasions make travel and accommodation arrangements
- Any other duties compatible with the level and nature of this post

- Must be prepared to travel and stay away on occasions
Work Hours
- 9.00am until 5.00pm Monday to Thursday
- 9.00am until 4.00pm Friday
Hybrid Working
- BHETA are operating a hybrid model with Tues/Wed/Thurs in the office, with the rest of the week working from home.
