Making it happen for housewares at Exclusively 2017

Exclusively proved itself a great example of what a positive approach in difficult economic times can achieve.

Show initiatives like Tomorrow’s Kitchen and the Scarlet Opus Trend Tours and seminar programme were all successful in stimulating the industry and helping suppliers and buyers make the most of consumer and design trends.

The show also reminded all those exhibiting that whatever the economic picture, there still are sales opportunities for those who are prepared to grab them.

Buyers from Wilkinson, The Range, TK Maxx, Argos, Robert Dyas, Marks & Spencer, Lakeland, and Steamer Trading, Leekes, Dunelm and Dixons Carphone were all there.

The grocery sector saw teams from Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Tesco and Asda and department store visitors included John Lewis, House of Fraser, Debenhams, Selfridges, Brown Thomas, Barnitts, Dinghams, Rossiters, Jarrolds, Bentalls of Kingston and Fenwicks.

A wide range of e-commerce and mail order companies including Amazon, Achica, Brand Alley, Next Online, Kaleidoscope, Freemans, JD Williams, Express Gifts, Wayfair, Harts of Stur, Shop Direct, Ocado, QVC and Ideal World joined buying groups and wholesalers including Decco, Costco, Jegs Electrical, Stax, EFG Home Hardware, Sirius and Euronics.

Garden centres like Bents, Wyevale, Blue Diamond and Haskins were represented as well as many, many of the UK’s best independents such as Borough Kitchen, Lords at Home, Butlers Choice, Potters, Morleys, WH Hurst & Son, FTB Lawson, Roys of Wroxham, Upstairs Downstairs, and Kitchen Kapers.

There was also a great turn out of international housewares, tableware, and small domestic appliance buyers with heavyweight retailers from as far afield as Australia, Poland, Latvia, the Czech Republic, and Hong Kong joining many of their European counterparts at the two shows.
