This March, BHETA is encouraging everyone in the home enhancement sector to get behind the Rainy Day Trust’s Mad March Million challenge – a fantastic initiative that raises crucial funds to support those in our industry who need it most, while also promoting mental and physical well-being.
The concept is simple: form a team of 3 or 4 and aim to take a million steps together throughout the month. You can walk, jog, or run—whatever suits you best! The key is to get moving every day, burn a few calories, and improve your mental well-being.
Research shows that physical activity, particularly bilateral movement, helps reduce stress and improve mental health. Getting outdoors in the fresh air also offers a much-needed break from the screen and daily work pressures. Why not encourage multiple teams within your company to take part and enjoy some friendly competition?
To make things more exciting, teams that set up a JustGiving sponsorship page will not only raise vital funds for the Rainy Day Trust but will also have the chance to win fantastic prizes!
What’s in It for You?
- Every participant will receive a Mad March Million t-shirt to show their support for mental health and the industry charity.
- A £12 per person registration fee applies—perhaps your company could sponsor your team?
- Win prizes! Raise £1,000, and your team earns a bottle of champagne (plus another bottle for every additional £1,000 raised).
- The team with the highest average step count wins trays of brownies and other delicious treats!
How to Get Involved:
- Form a team within your company.
- Set up your JustGiving page and start fundraising.
- Track your steps and inspire others to join in.
- Share your progress on social media using #MadMarchMillion.
